Staff Engineer, Autonomy Developer Productivity & Infrastructure (Autonomy)

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a highly motivated and innovative engineer to join their Autonomy team to build and optimize systems for self-driving vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience in developer productivity, software infrastructure, or DevOps role
• Strong programming proficiency in one or more languages like Python, C++, Rust, Go, or Java
• Deep knowledge of build systems and tools
• Experience with CI/CD principles and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Drive advanced automation and processes to accelerate engineering velocity
• Act as a technical liaison between Autonomy groups and vehicle software DevOps teams
• Improve developer experience and system reliability
• Innovate with AI to enhance developer workflows and CI/CD pipelines
• Partner with product and research engineers to build technical foundations for self-driving capabilities
