Machine Learning Engineering Manager - Maps Search Query Understanding

Job Description

Apple is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Search Query Understanding team in building best-in-class algorithms and solutions for Apple Maps.

Requirements

• MS in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of progressive software engineering management experience
• Experience in leading and developing teams in information retrieval domains like search, personalization, recommender systems, or related areas
• Experience with distributed systems and services
• Experience of building machine learning applications at scale
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Query Understanding including intent understanding, transformations, suggestions, and more
• Drive definitions and develop, evaluate, and deploy multiple search features including LLMs, large-scale machine learning models, deep-learning, and natural language processing solutions
• Provide technical and career mentorship to the team
• Collaborate with partner/product teams to set goals, expectations, and roadmaps
