Facilities Commissioning Field Engineer, Mechanical Systems

Job Description

Tesla's Cell Infrastructure team is seeking a Field Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to oversee commissioning and startup activities for new and retrofitted facilities, ensuring mechanical systems meet operational requirements and safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years experience in field engineering with preference in commissioning or operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong background in mechanical systems
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and execute detailed commissioning plans for mechanical systems
• Review mechanical design documents and specifications for compliance
• Perform inspections and testing of mechanical equipment
• Witness equipment startup and testing by internal parties and vendors
• Identify and resolve mechanical system issues
