Staff Test Engineer, Powertrain

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to work on system level Powertrain testing as part of the product development process.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering with minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in testing or developing electric axles and drivetrains
• Thorough knowledge of automotive CAN and CAN FD communication
• Experience with design, construction, and validation of electric powertrain test equipment
• Experience in data analysis and scripting for automated data analysis tools
• Experience in configuration, development, and maintenance of test systems like Veristand, AVL PUMA, and EMCON
• Ability to work autonomously

Responsibilities

• Perform system level validation testing for Powertrain
• Support the development of new and existing test system capabilities
• Develop test methods for electric Powertrain products
• Support other teams in generating Rivian Test Standards
• Define drive unit and gearbox test profiles and support their implementation
• Analyze test data, write test reports, and troubleshoot testing issues
• Support departmental continuous improvement endeavors
