Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Thermal Series Engineer for Thermal/HVAC Systems to play a key role in producing critical systems in electric vehicles for comfort and thermal management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of industry experience or a master's degree with 3+ years of industry experience
Experience with Thermal/HVAC system design and electrical components
Understanding of thermal system architectures and system requirements
Knowledge of statistics and data analysis
Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes and equipment
Strong collaboration skills with various stakeholders
Proficiency with CAD design tools and automotive DVP&R cycle
Ability to travel internationally to suppliers

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify issues, drive resolution, and implement changes
Optimize the Thermal/HVAC system, subassembly, and components
Work with Suppliers, Quality, Launch Teams, and Material Planning to maintain ramp rate through launch
Lead issue review with internal design teams
Support Change Management, plant trials, and rework plans
Support system teardown efforts for factory and field failures
Engage with suppliers to drive changes and manage part qualifications
