Job Description

Microsoft is looking for a Senior Applied Scientist for the Microsoft Teams Calling, Meeting & Devices group to collaborate on next-generation innovations and experiences leveraging AI technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience OR Master's Degree AND 3+ years related experience OR Doctorate AND 1+ year(s) related experience OR equivalent experience
• Experience in applied science experiments, ML pipeline, Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, and Machine Learning
• Experience developing and deploying conversational and language understanding models at scale
• Experience with commercial product development and improving user experiences
• Experience following Responsible AI and Privacy Preserving Machine Learning best practices

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, validate, and ship AI-powered features for Microsoft Teams across different platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and success criteria
• Maintain and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability of AI-powered features
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, telemetry reviews, and continuous delivery processes
• Champion a culture of scientific rigor, ethical AI, and innovation
• Communicate scientific findings and technical designs to product and engineering leadership
• Drive exploration of hybrid AI experiences for responsiveness, privacy, and enterprise value
• Collaborate with various Microsoft teams to innovate AI in products and services
