Research Scientist Intern

Job Description

KLA is looking for summer interns at their Ann Arbor, Michigan location to work on projects related to optical coatings for inspection and metrology tools.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year graduate program in Mechanical Engineering or related field with immigration authorization for corporate internship projects
• Experience with high vacuum systems
• Knowledge of surface and thin-film characterization methods and data analysis
• Experience with XPS, AFM, and SEM/EDX characterization techniques is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop methods and test plans for characterization of optics and thin-film coatings
• Work with vacuum chambers and related equipment
• Design, set up, and execute multi-disciplinary experiments
• Analyze data and prepare summary reports
• Collaborate with scientists at external partner organizations
