Job Description

Rivian is seeking a key member for their Perception team to develop advanced machine learning algorithms for safety-critical self-driving features of electric vehicles.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years related industry or research experience
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and language experience in C++ and Python
• Broad understanding of modern Perception systems and their architectures
• Experience in software for real-time safety-critical systems, robotics, machine learning model training, performant software writing, parallel programming, cloud computing, and large-scale data processing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
• Good team player with great communication skills
• Passionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to a product

Responsibilities

• Developing technical strategy and architecture for foundation models
• Developing multi-modal, multi-task transformer-based systems
• Building training and evaluation pipelines at scale
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Driving alignment between model capabilities and real-world deployment constraints
• Publishing internal technical guidance and mentoring engineers
