Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Drive Unit Inverter

Job Description

Tesla is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development of manufacturing processes and equipment for next-generation inverter products.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in high-volume automated production environments
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) principles
• Proficiency in CAD tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA
• Solid grasp of lean and six sigma principles
• Ability to analyze complex data using tools like MySQL, Python, JMP, Tableau

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing equipment and processes for drive unit inverters
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure DFM and DFA principles are applied
• Lead the development of pilot lines and transition to high-volume production
• Work with equipment suppliers to design custom equipment
• Apply various manufacturing techniques and quality assurance methods
• Meet high-volume production targets and drive continuous improvement
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex problems
