Job Description

As the Senior Regional Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for providing high-level support for control systems within a region of Amazon sites, focusing on continuous improvement and system maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or 7+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
  • 7+ years experience working in industrial controls and automation
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Advanced knowledge of material handling control systems, PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, motor control systems, servo drives, and electrical distribution systems

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot material handling control systems and provide SME support for engineering issues
  • Programming and source coding for in-house built solutions based in PLC or PC controllers and SCADA/OEE platforms
  • Project Management of large-scale initiatives and coordination of site-based Automation Engineers
  • Develop, optimize, and monitor Key Performance Indicators for control the efficiency, availability, and quality of machines
  • Provide technical guidance and decision making for collaboration projects or initiatives with other Amazon teams
  • 24/7 on-call rotational support for hardware and software systems across multiple sites
  • Travel up to 80% for job-related activities
