Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Battery Cell

Job Description

This role at Tesla involves developing, qualifying, scaling up, and optimizing manufacturing and quality system procedures for battery cell manufacturing, playing a critical role in the production of Tesla vehicles and storage systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in cell manufacturing (Pouch/Prismatic/Can type cells)
• Proficient in Battery Cell FA techniques
• Experience in manufacturing setup handling Measurement system analysis, SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, OEE
• Strong technical writing ability and team building skills
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
• Experience in high volume manufacturing is highly desired

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and oversee battery cell manufacturing process
• Drive overall supplier industrialization readiness
• Responsible for driving TQP for production launch readiness
• Lead FAs and implement CAs for battery cell failures
• Drive supplier DFM reviews and equipment buy-offs
• Develop and implement quality control procedures at supplier sites
• Accountable for supplier audits and corrective actions
• Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and process changes
