Sr. Development Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to support the System Analysis / System Testing layer of the V model for electric vehicle product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering: Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar field
• 3+ years of automotive industry-specific experience
• 5+ years of total engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee HIL, Lab Car, test asset integration
• Lead issue reporting and resolution for ADAS, Software integration, and engineering voice of customer vehicles
• Solve vehicle-level issues both in the field and with early-development vehicles
• Define and execute Mule vehicle commissioning and functional checkouts
• Evaluate vehicle operation on public roads and closed courses
• Transform high-level observations into defined problem statements and execute subsequent investigations
• Document self-identified software and hardware defects thoroughly and advocate for fast containment and resolution
• Support remote site testing in various environments
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to shop technicians and manufacturing teams
• Travel up to 30%, occasionally with limited notice
