Equipment Engineer, Cybercab, Plastics

Job Description

The Launch Equipment Engineer at Tesla will be responsible for driving development and continuous improvement of equipment and injection molding processes within the Plastics shop.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with Injection molding machines (Engel and Krauss Maffei)
• Knowledge on paint processes and robot programming (Dürr equipment is a plus)
• Knowledge in Fluid Dispensing equipment’s (Cannon or Krauss Maffei)
• Skilled with a variety of hand and portable tools, general machining, and welding
• Experience with dosing machines, chemical systems, and related maintenance tasks

Responsibilities

• Drive development and continuous improvement of equipment and injection molding process within the Plastics shop
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment bad actors and major unplanned downtime
• Become subject matter expert on all equipment and train other engineers and technicians
• Create, implement, and improve PM documents and schedules
• Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds
• Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development
• Drive quality concerns and voice of the customer to the paint process
