Mechanical Design Engineer, Automation

Job Description

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the automated manufacturing equipment that produces Tesla’s industry-changing products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Basic knowledge of GD&T
• Exposure to component design, analysis, and validation
• Great technical and interpersonal communication

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize designs in 3D CAD software with associated CAE tools
• Validate manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility
• Complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings and BOM’s
• Take direction from project team members
• Validate components per defined engineering requirements
• Conduct engineering studies (i.e. FEA, DFM) and report findings
• Resolve issues and concerns with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, production, and service
• Participate in the sourcing process and manage engineering relationships with suppliers
• Balance workload based on defined priorities
• Deliver to defined schedules
