Senior Research Scientist, Translate Research

Job Description

Google is seeking a Research Scientist to work on improving translation quality for Google Translate and contribute to the wider research community by publishing findings.

Requirements

• PhD degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience leading a research agenda
• Experience in machine translations or related natural language processing tasks
• Experience with machine learning or evaluations
• One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories

Responsibilities

• Work within a team on research problems important for Google Translate
• Research novel techniques for improving translation quality
• Design and conduct experiments for model quality improvements
• Develop new machine translation techniques
• Invent reliable automatic and human evaluation methods for machine translation outputs
