Sr. Embedded Firmware Development Engineer

Job Description

The Tesla Sensing Team is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Development Engineer to work on developing real-time embedded software for various sensors in a car to assist the autopilot system.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ coding skills for embedded system development
• 5+ years of experience in Python/Matlab for scripting and testing of embedded systems implementing DSP and ML algorithms
• Experience with real-time embedded OS such as FreeRTOS and Linux
• Working knowledge of device drivers and microcontroller peripherals
• Experience with automotive CAN and CAN-FD interface
• Knowledge of board bring-up, profiling, and debugging tools
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate test and verification/validation using Matlab/Python/C and C++
• Design, develop, and analyze system and software architectures for sensing systems
• Write, test, and debug embedded FW developed using C/C++
• Evaluate sensor technologies for next-generation sensor systems
• Hands-on testing of sensor systems in laboratory and in-car drives
• Write software requirements, test cases, and review code
• Mentor other team members and interns
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and program management
