Job Description

Apple is seeking a Software Development Manager to drive end-to-end execution of software development for Airpods and ensure on-time delivery to support hardware programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in managing embedded software development for consumer or commercial electronics
  • Experience coordinating with teams to track risks and program deliverables
  • Experience breaking down complex software tasks into simpler tasks and defining software requirements
  • Experience in initiating process improvements and forming metrics to track progress
  • Experience in negotiation and addressing unexpected project issues

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end execution of software development for Airpods
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and timelines for software development and validation
  • Identify and manage cross-functional program dependencies
  • Provide regular status updates and drive alignment across different teams
  • Evaluate user impact of software fixes and prioritize issues
  • Interface with cross-functional teams and provide clear guidelines to engineering teams
  • Organize tracking system to reflect achievements and dependencies
  • Hold daily meetings to track progress on critical bugs and ensure resource availability
  • Ensure software requirements are documented and track all deliverables
