Security Engineer II, Security Incident Response Team (SIRT)

Job Description

Amazon is seeking qualified Security Engineers to join their innovative, high energy Information Security team. The role involves working within the Amazon Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) to respond to security events, conduct threat analysis, and provide security services to safeguard sensitive data.

Requirements

• 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language
• 2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or 2+ years of IT Security experience
• Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques

Responsibilities

• Responding to security incidents and coordinating response across multiple teams
• Providing security engineering solutions and support during customer-facing incidents
• Assisting in the development of pragmatic security solutions
• Identifying and recommending solutions to improve incident response capabilities
• Mentoring Information Security engineers to improve security practices
• Evaluating security trends and coordinating response across affected teams
• Staying updated with the changing threat landscape
• Participating in on-call rotation
