SCADA Controls Engineer, Paint

Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled SCADA Controls Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimize SCADA systems used in managing paint shop production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional controls engineering experience
• Experience working with Ignition SCADA v8+, especially with the Perspective design
• Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Understanding of databases such as MSSQL, MySQL or Oracle, with skill in writing efficient queries for complex requirements
• Familiarity with PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, or equivalent) for integration purposes
• Familiarity with web development such as HTML5, CSS, Javascript, React is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality SCADA applications using Ignition Perspective
• Write and optimize Python scripts and SQL queries to support automation, data tracking, and reporting
• Ensure proper system change management, tracking all updates, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining detailed documentation
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SCADA systems, scripting, and database performance
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop scalable solutions, and ensure seamless system integration
• Implement data-driven solutions using SQL databases
• Conduct functional testing and system validation to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with manufacturing standards
