Job Description

Microsoft Surface Devices team is looking for an Electrical Engineer II to focus on electrical design and technology development for next-generation Surface products.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
Foundational understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, working with printed circuit board (PCB) materials, flex design, and PCB and FPC manufacturing processes.
Proven experience problem-solving and debugging with a solid understanding of core engineering principles, fundamental circuit design, and analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

Develop Schematics and bill of materials (BOM) to meet the design requirements.
Create motherboard floorplan and layout in collaboration with teams including the Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, and Thermal teams.
Design, build, and test rapid prototypes for evaluation of new product ideas or technology concepts.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize the overall system of the product from concept to completion.
Use simulation and lab measurement data to support design troubleshooting and propose corrective actions.
Work with suppliers, contractors, and engineering services to ensure the product is developed on time with high quality.
