Highway Design Engineer

Job Description

Arcadis is looking for a Highway Design Engineer to join their Transportation group in New York, NY. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions in the national market with great potential for growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field
• 2-3 years of related work experience outside of school
• EIT Certification

Responsibilities

• Engineering design including geometric design of highways and streets, rail design, drainage design, and completion of construction engineering and inspection tasks.
• Complete transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, and general traffic engineering projects.
• Collect, compile and analyze data related to traffic, highway, and crash histories.
• Assist in the development of models, figures, reports, and engineering plans for designs.
• Prepare construction plans, project displays, cost estimates, reports, and technical memos.
• Collect field data and conduct field observations for infrastructure projects related to water resources.
• Prepare memorandums summarizing analysis work.
