AI/ML Engineer – Vice President (Seattle, WA)

Job Description

Goldman Sachs is seeking a talented individual to join their Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence team to develop and implement GenAI solutions for large-scale production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a computational field (Masters/PhD preferred)
• 7+ years of experience as an applied data scientist / machine learning engineer
• Strong hands-on experience in software development with Python, C/C++, Go, Java
• Experience in designing, architecting, testing, and launching production ML systems
• Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Solid grasp of applied statistics, core ML concepts, algorithms, and data structures

Responsibilities

• Build agentic AI systems for production environments
• Productionize Large Language Models (LLMs) and implement retrieval pipelines
• Integrate agents with runtime ecosystems for automated diagnostics and remediation
• Collaborate with production engineers and application teams to address production challenges
• Ensure safety, reliability, and governance of AI systems
• Optimize scale and performance of AI systems
• Curate domain knowledge and establish feedback loops for continuous improvement
• Drive design reviews, experiment rigor, and mentor peers on engineering best practices
