Application Engineer, Product Design and Engineering Systems

Job Description

Lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for in-house and customer-facing web applications at Google.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience working with Java.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Electrical or Mechanical CAD data management, Product Lifecycle Management, or Supply Chain Risk Management.
• Experience implementing, customizing and integrating third-party applications in the supply chain or product design space.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills with analytical skills and a bias toward action.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technical issues, designing, coding, testing, and deploying end-to-end solutions to manage Google’s critical hardware data.
• Partner directly with Mechanical, Electrical, and Supply Chain engineers to understand their issues and translate needs into technical specifications.
• Integrate, customize, and build upon enterprise software to meet Google’s standards and reliability.
• Improve and automate core business processes by building backend services and front-end tools to accelerate hardware development.
• Ensure the quality and long-term health of code, mastering skills beyond core programming.
