Job Description

Elanco is seeking a Principal Research Scientist to conduct groundbreaking clinical research aimed at developing novel animal health products. The role involves designing bioassays, managing multiple research projects, and integrating new scientific developments into product development.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent
5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related job titles
Experience in clinical product development, including regulatory requirements for drug, vaccine, and parasitology
Conducting GCP and GLP studies
Obtaining approval for parasitology, small molecule drug, and vaccine projects
Team management experience
Technical writing experience for regulatory agencies/publications
Developing clinical regulatory strategy
Knowledge of parasitology technologies for farm animals
25% domestic and international travel required

Responsibilities

Conduct groundbreaking clinical research to develop novel animal health products
Conceptualize, design, construct, and validate cell-based bioassays
Develop pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic biomarker assay reagents and assays
Integrate novel scientific developments into research and development projects
Evaluate new platform technologies for suitability to Elanco’s needs
Establish collaborations and research programs for innovative solutions
Transfer knowledge from research to development and from development to registration
Analyze current product offerings to identify areas for further R&D
Manage and oversee multiple research projects
Supervise 8 subordinates, including Consultants and Senior Research Scientists
