Job Description

The iCloud Efficiency Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing the design, deployment, and operation of iCloud services, focusing on capacity planning and resource optimization to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Requirements

3+ years of relevant experience in large-scale cloud services or similar environments
Strong software engineering background and experience with data-driven modeling, forecasting and decision making for cloud services
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Hands-on experience with platform observability tools
Experienced in developing cost models and strategies for software services
Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Demonstrable experience in capacity planning and resource optimization
Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and service monitoring tools a plus
PhD in CS or related field

Responsibilities

Analyze infrastructure usage patterns
Conduct capacity planning to ensure scalability and reliability
Collaborate with engineering teams, data scientists, and finance experts
Develop and implement strategies for cloud sustainability and resource utilization
Optimize iCloud's performance and influence the unit cost of services
