Job Description

This contract role seeks a Software Database Engineer to drive sustainability initiatives through data engineering and analytics, focusing on carbon and waste reduction. The engineer will build data infrastructure, automate reporting, and develop analytical tools to support sustainability commitments.

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of experience working with SQL, Kusto, Azure Synapse, DAX, M (Power Query), Python, and Power BI
Minimum 8 years of experience applying Agile methodology in project delivery
Minimum 2 years of experience developing AI productivity tools
8 to 10 years of overall experience in data engineering or related technical field
Experience managing sustainability projects is highly preferred
Supply chain experience is highly preferred
Experience working with AI productivity tools such as Copilot is highly preferred
Strong proficiency in SQL, Kusto, Azure Synapse, DAX, M (Power Query), Python, and Power BI
Expertise in Agile methodology and iterative development practices
Experience developing AI productivity tools using platforms such as Copilot Studio
Advanced data pipeline architecture and maintenance capabilities
Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
Team collaboration and cross-functional partnership abilities
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and analytical rigor
Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

Build and maintain data pipelines to support sustainability reporting and analytics
Assemble large, complex datasets from multiple sources to create comprehensive data repositories
Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of sustainability metrics
Develop analytical tools that generate actionable business insights for decision-makers
Create dashboards and visual reporting solutions to communicate data effectively to stakeholders
Collaborate with project owners to collect and document business requirements for reporting initiatives
Develop AI-powered productivity tools to enhance operational efficiency, such as Carbon Free Energy validation tools
Ensure data quality and integrity across all reporting systems and pipelines
