Job Description

The Electrical Engineering Manager at Milwaukee Tool will lead a team of electrical engineers to support high volume battery projects, focusing on strategic roadmap planning, resource allocation, and process improvement while collaborating across various engineering and operational teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of highly successful embedded systems experience.
  • 3+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Understanding of digital circuits and the interaction between firmware and electronics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership experience.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and efficient.
  • Practical knowledge in embedded electronics design and battery/PCBA manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small to medium size team of electrical engineers in the design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics.
  • Mentor and coach the team in engineering best practices.
  • Lead the team to qualify alternate electronic components and maintain supply chain stability.
  • Identify and execute Value Engineering opportunities.
  • Ensure production and warranty/quality issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Organize and align across functional teams to develop a product support strategy roadmap.
  • Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for project metrics.
  • Effectively communicate and motivate team members across the organization.
  • Frame-up and escalate business risks/opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Create and manage robust project roadmaps and resource plans.
  • Champion and drive new processes and procedures.
  • Ensure proper risk analysis is performed on proposed changes.
  • Review drawing releases and Engineering Change Notices.
