Job Description

The Software Engineering Manager for the Chrome Security AI Agent Security and Safety team will lead a group of engineers to develop safety and anti-abuse solutions to secure Chrome users and Google's systems against AI-augmented attacks. This role combines technical leadership and team management to shape the strategy for responsible web experiences and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience in web browsers or application security.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (preferred).
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization (preferred).
  • Experience programming in C++ (preferred).
  • Experience developing web applications or browser features for the web (preferred).
  • Experience with Large Language Models, Generative AI, and AI Agents (preferred).
  • Understanding of security considerations for web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy development, roadmap planning, design, and development of safety and anti-abuse solutions for Gemini-in-Chrome.
  • Lead design and development of anti-abuse solutions to protect user experiences.
  • Mentor a team of engineers in designing and experimenting with security techniques.
  • Collaborate with Chrome Security and AI teams to deliver solutions.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships for ecosystem-facing solutions.
  • Contribute to Chrome becoming a thought leader in the security of agentic web experiences.
