Job Description

KLA is seeking a research scientist or engineer to perform controller tuning and characterization for precision motion stages, driving the development of testing tools, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance inspection systems in semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

Doctorate (Academic) Degree or Master's Level Degree with related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree with related work experience of 5 years
Background in precision motion control with experience in integrating, testing, and optimizing complex mechanisms
Experience working with semiconductor equipment in cleanroom environments
Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink for controller development and tuning
Ability to develop Python scripts for data analysis

Responsibilities

Perform controller tuning, performance characterization, and troubleshooting for a nanometer-level precision motion stage
Define specifications for stage testing and develop data processing tools in Python
Collaborate cross-functionally to generate plans for integrated testing of the stage
Characterize dynamic performance at the inspection station level
Work with a cross-functional team to bring prototype systems online
Participate in the testing of complex calibrations and algorithms
Follow systems through Alpha test, delivery, and Beta test at customer sites
