Job Description

Amazon is seeking Software Development Engineer (SDE) interns to work on AI innovation, including developing foundational capabilities for AI agents and scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures. The role offers hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

Are 18 years of age or older
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Experience with AI/ML technologies
Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM fields, with an expected graduation date after October 2026

Responsibilities

Collaborate and communicate effectively with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services
Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective
Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools
Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
Work in an agile environment practicing CI/CD principles
Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues
