Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to lead the AI strategy using data from the Rivian fleet. This role involves developing systems that understand real-world driving complexities and enhance customer experience and safety through advanced machine learning techniques.

Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Machine Learning or a related field
5+ years of experience working on production ML systems
Expert level knowledge and experience with Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow
Solid understanding of state-of-the-art models and approaches in the self-driving space
Capable of working in a fast-paced development environment
Good team player with great communication skills
Passionately motivated to take ideas from development validation to a verified product
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to set direction
Hands-on approach to proactively identify and fill gaps
Good understanding of linear algebra, geometry, algorithms, and data structures
Experience with Automotive Self-Driving or similarly complex Robotics Systems

Responsibilities

Examining novel algorithms from a research standpoint and iteratively refining them
Optimizing and enhancing on-road performance for models during development
Acting as a key technical authority within the department
Balancing technology tradeoffs according to the company's needs
Crafting easily extendable and collaborative designs and code
Influencing and fostering consensus during technical discussions
