Job Description

The Motor Engineer II at Milwaukee Tool will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute test plans for motor performance, ensuring efficient mass production of motors and products globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a design related role.
  • Familiarity with motor theory, electromagnetic analysis, motor design, and manufacturing methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and efficient.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot motors for mid to high-level complexity projects.
  • Create test plans for motor components and assemblies.
  • Use laboratory equipment for experiments and data analysis.
  • Conduct hands-on experiments of power tools and perform simulations.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis on motor failures.
  • Self-manage and track projects to ensure adherence to schedule.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization regarding project progress.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Work with suppliers for component selection and future product needs.
  • Facilitate and document technical meetings and presentations.
  • Maintain knowledge of development and manufacturing processes.
  • Design and qualify solutions to regulatory standards.
