Job Description

The Sr. Project Engineer at Milwaukee Tool will utilize engineering skills and project management abilities to drive the successful implementation of design updates, ensuring products meet user needs and remain industry-leading.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally & domestically to global manufacturing and service facilities (<10% travel).
  • Ability to manage several simultaneous projects.
  • Highly developed mechanical aptitude with broad knowledge of engineering materials used in power tools.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Self-starter with a strong problem-solving mentality.
  • Understanding of DFMA and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead.
  • PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads moderate to high level engineering projects for factory support, warranty, and performance improvements.
  • Work cross-functionally and globally with various departments including Quality & Reliability Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Lead tradeoff discussions focusing on Performance, Cost, and Schedule.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive plans to meet project targets.
  • Monitor & track project progress and provide regular status updates to senior management.
  • Visit manufacturing facilities and suppliers to provide troubleshooting analysis as required.
  • Request and perform tests per established procedures.
  • Interpret data and make corresponding design recommendations.
  • Utilize computer aided simulation tools, select materials, perform tolerance stacks, and analyze noise and vibration.
