Job Description

The Homologation Engineer, VIN & Label Compliance role at Rivian involves defining regulatory label requirements, ensuring product compliance, and supporting cross-functional teams in the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years’ experience in automotive engineering preferably with an automotive OEM.
  • 0-1 years’ experience with automotive and/or charging product regulatory and safety warning labeling.
  • Demonstrated design skills and experience with technical drawings and part release tools (CAD/CATIA/ENOVIA/Adobe Illustrator).
  • Extremely dedicated attention to detail necessary to communicate regulatory compliance information and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across the organization as well as with external suppliers and vendors.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing environment and ability to adapt to flexible working hours and conditions.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility as Design Release Engineer (DRE) for vehicle regulatory and safety labels.
  • Support the process for dynamic data regulatory labels and work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure integrity of label data and product compliance.
  • Support manufacturing and IT with defining label printing equipment requirements, PFMEA/Poka-yoke, dynamic data label print testing, and troubleshooting, as necessary.
  • Conduct label compliance audits throughout product development and manufacturing and support any necessary investigations/field actions.
  • Ensure all regulatory and safety labels are designed in accordance with the homologation/certification process/regulations and/or other internal requirements.
  • Assist with technical reviews of labeling specifications and troubleshoot issues to ensure compliance to regulatory, design, quality, manufacturing, service, and printing requirements.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers/illustrators to assist in the development and redlining of content for regulatory and safety label approved artwork.
  • Participate in label translation projects with the vendors and support label translation reviews for consistent format, layout, and compliance.
  • Assist the purchasing team and label supplier(s) with product quotation, validation, compliance, and integration to product manufacturing/assembly.
  • Support documenting global label regulations applicable to Rivian products, both on and off-vehicle, in North America, Europe, China and other markets.
