Job Description

As a Senior Project Engineer at Milwaukee Tool, you will leverage your engineering skills and project management abilities to execute design changes and maintain existing products while driving innovative technologies in power tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent required; preferred in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically several times a year (20% travel).
  • Ability to manage several simultaneous projects.
  • Preferred high level of Mechanical/Electrical engineering aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Working design knowledge of a wide variety of technologies associated with Milwaukee products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of design, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to provide a basic overview of upcoming workload and identify potential resource bottlenecks.
  • Understanding of DFMA and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead required.
  • PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small to medium scale engineering projects and provide engineering support on mid-level complexity projects under the supervision of Project Leader.
  • Work cross-functionally and globally with various departments including Quality & Reliability Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Service & Support, and Marketing.
  • Evaluate product designs to meet market driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive project plans and drive project execution to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets.
  • Monitor and track project progress and provide weekly project status updates to senior management and project team.
  • Regularly visit manufacturing cells/suppliers to maintain open lines of communication and provide troubleshooting analysis.
  • Request and perform tests per established procedures.
  • Accountable for technical elements of project execution including integration of complicated components and assemblies, material selection, packaging, and compliance.
