Requirements
College or Technical degree in a field related to Engineering or Science (Preferred)
3 years CAD 3D modeling and 2D detail drawing experience
3 years minimum of experience teaching GD&T or drawing checker
Proficient in set-up and operation of inspection equipment (Preferred)
ASME Y14.5 GDTP certification (Preferred)
Proficient in mathematical applications- Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Willing to travel up to 20-30% of the time
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to investigate and learn new technologies within metrology
Organized and able to balance multiple projects (typically 3-5) simultaneously
Strong diagnostic and investigative skills
Responsibilities
Supports Engineering New Product Development in Metrology through sample measurements and feedback.
Develops inspection-gaging strategies to meet business needs.
Articulates differences between datum reference frame and alignment options.
Interprets drawings featuring GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to identify product inspection requirements.
Aids in developing new inspection techniques as required.
Proposes and develops gaging options for in-process/in-plant inspections.
Participates in design reviews with cross-functional teams.
Maintains adequate training in metrology disciplines.
