Job Description

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Payments Business Analyst to bridge the gap between product management and development teams, focusing on gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements for payment solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience as a business analyst in payments or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing requirements, and creating user stories for payment-related products.
  • Strong understanding of at least one payment scheme in areas of RTGS, real-time, or low-value payment clearing schemes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver complex solutions.
  • Comfort working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for payment solutions.
  • Translate requirements into clear, actionable user stories for development teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, operations, and clients) to ensure alignment and prioritization of requirements.
  • Act as the primary bridge between product and development teams, clarifying requirements and facilitating communication.
  • Support and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring features meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and project progress to senior leadership.
  • Conduct process mapping and recommend improvements for efficiency and automation.
  • Stay up to date with payment schemes (e.g., Fedwire, FEDACH, RTP, CHAPS, CHIPS, batch, RTGS, or real-time payments) and relevant regulations.
