Job Description

Netflix is seeking strong build engineers to join the Model Observability & Lifecycle Management team's centralized MLOps platform. The role focuses on building a monorepo environment to enhance productivity for ML engineers and researchers, ensuring the reliability of ML applications through effective tooling and practices.

Requirements

At least four years of experience directly managing build, CI/CD, and release tooling, preferably in a monorepo context
Proficiency in managing large projects in Gradle and cross-language build tools such as Bazel or Pants
Experience developing build and release operations for large repositories featuring dozens to hundreds of independent but interlinked projects
Extensive experience with Java and/or Python B&R methodologies
Passion for evolving B&R best practices in response to empirical performance and developer velocity measurements

Responsibilities

Help make foundational technology decisions with an eye toward large-scale repository management
Define best practices for large-scale monorepos, influencing how hundreds of engineers work daily
Anticipate and prepare for scaling opportunities as the repository grows
Onboard existing repositories into the monorepo, harmonizing toolchains
Expand B&R support to accommodate new languages, currently expanding to Python
Support teams with company-wide migrations and version upgrades
Work alongside build experts to incorporate existing tools into the environment
Create measurement harnesses to measure build performance and developer velocity metrics
