Job Description

Google is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, implement, and manage electrical systems for data centers, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, efficient, and reliable infrastructure.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
3 years of experience with mission-critical facilities and their electrical/mechanical infrastructure.
3 years of experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, Automatic Transfer Panel (ATP)/Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), emergency power systems, and their control systems.
3 years of experience including power monitoring and electrical protection systems.
5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments (preferred).
Experience with Data Center Architecture and issues of continuous operation and scalability (preferred).
Experience in electrical design of low and medium voltage Switchgear systems (preferred).
Experience with cross-functional partnership and coordinating system-level schematics with the EOR during the Basis of Design (BOD) phase (preferred).
Understanding of Power Systems Testing and commissioning processes (preferred).
Ability to maintain comprehensive documentation of all data center-related electrical system design requirements and interface documents (preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining electrical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completion.
Develop, implement, and manage the electrical designs at the site level, starting from the basis of design through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations.
Collaborate effectively with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between Google's requirements and the overall design.
Own and manage site-level power system issues during project execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve challenges effectively.
