Job Description

The Workforce Identity team is seeking a technical leader to oversee the Bring Your Own ID (BYOID) initiative on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on secure user access via third-party identity providers. The role involves improving service reliability and efficiency while mentoring a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

Improve the reliability, security, and efficiency of all services and controls owned by the team, meeting GCP's high engineering and operational standards.
Define and execute the BYOID goal, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, aligning with customer needs and the broader Google Cloud security strategy.
Provide technical direction and architectural guidance, ensuring designs are scalable and resilient.
Lead, mentor, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
Partner effectively with cross-functional teams across GCP to deliver integrated solutions.
Influence and align with executive stakeholders.
Drive the development life-cycle for scalable services, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery and operational excellence.
Stay current with the latest industry developments in Identity and Cloud Security.
