Job Description

StubHub is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead the science and systems for their paid search marketing. The role involves designing causal measurement frameworks, building production models, and collaborating with various teams to drive growth in customer acquisition and marketing efficiency.

Requirements

8+ years in applied ML/causal inference with direct paid search/auction experience
Expert in causal methods and experimental design
Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, and experience with Spark and cloud platforms
Hands-on experience with A/B frameworks and measurement diagnostics
Proven track record integrating with Google Ads/Microsoft Ads/SA360

Responsibilities

Own causal measurement for paid search and stand up uplift/incrementality frameworks
Ship production models that inform bids, budgets, and query-level targeting
Design experiments and guardrails, handling power analysis and monitoring
Integrate with ad platforms and validate against auction dynamics
Partner with platform teams to build reliable feature stores and establish monitoring
Provide technical leadership and mentorship across teams
Communicate trade-offs and impact to executives and non-technical partners
