Job Description

StubHub is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build systems and pipelines for centralizing internal and third-party data. The role involves empowering teams across the company to transform data for analysis, reporting, and machine learning, while also mentoring others and contributing to the data engineering culture.

Requirements

7+ years of relevant development experience in data platform or data engineering
Very high SQL proficiency with experience in transactional RDBMS and distributed systems
Strong programming and system design skills
Experience designing and developing large-scale batch and streaming data processing
Ability to analyze large datasets to identify data quality issues
Experience mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
Passion for great data end-user experience
Experience with data pipeline management tools like Airflow
Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift
Experience with batch processing systems like Spark

Responsibilities

Build and operate scalable data pipelines with robust QA, monitoring, and alerting
Create shared tooling to improve data practitioner productivity and quality
Influence the direction for key infrastructure and framework choices for data management
Contribute to core cross-functional data models
Launch data platform features that impact innovation and business growth
Manage individual initiatives, setting priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
Foster a culture of inclusion and open innovation in the team
Specialize in one or more business domains, building deep expertise
