Job Description

The Launch Engineer for New Product Introduction is responsible for managing operations related to major changes in the factory. This role requires leading cross-functional teams to ensure engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain targets are met for successful program implementation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience in new program launch, equipment and program management
  • Production Operations Knowledge including understanding of complex production lines
  • Background in Powertrain / High Voltage Battery engineering or manufacturing experience highly desired
  • Understanding of manufacturing validation processes for complex new products
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to devise creative solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings or CAD models

Responsibilities

  • Drive all activities related to the operations perimeter for the program into the factory
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional Program and Manufacturing Readiness forums
  • Oversee complete manufacturing validation for the program
  • Plan, organize, and orchestrate all pre-launch build activities
  • Oversee the finalization and validation of the MBOM for the program
  • Steer overall program validation plan and manufacturing readiness criteria
  • Consider environment, health, and safety in all activities
  • Interact and drive results across cross-functional teams
