Job Description

Uber is seeking a scientist to enhance the Consumer Experience Science team, focusing on optimizing the Uber App for millions of users. The role involves using data to drive growth in both mobility and delivery businesses through experimentation, product analytics, and machine learning modeling.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
  • 3+ years of industry or academic experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent (with at least two of those years in industry).
  • Experience in experimental design and analysis.
  • Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, and model development.
  • Proficiency in Python/R and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Refine ambiguous questions and generate new hypotheses about the product through a deep understanding of data, our customers, and our business.
  • Design experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and impactful conclusions that inform our decisions.
  • Define how our teams measure success by developing and tracking metrics.
  • Develop models to predict user app behavior and build personalized experiences.
  • Collaborate with other Scientists and Engineers to build and improve data foundations.
  • Present findings to business and executive audiences.
