Job Description

KLA is seeking Optical Engineers to join their talent community, focusing on designing and specifying optical components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. Although there are no current openings, interested candidates are encouraged to apply for future opportunities.

Requirements

  • Understanding of optics theory, especially illumination, imaging, and microscope systems
  • Experience with optical design software such as CodeV, Zemax, or Lighttools
  • Optical bench, subsystem, or system assembly experience
  • Ability to measure, troubleshoot, test, process, and communicate data
  • Willingness to travel to manufacturing and customer facilities
  • Results-driven with the ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline and multi-culture global organization
  • Degrees in optical engineering preferred
  • Experience with spectroscopy, coatings, and optomechanics a plus

Responsibilities

  • Designing and specifying optical components and modules
  • Creating specification documents and working with vendors
  • Calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting prototype optical systems
  • Assembling and aligning tabletop optical components
  • Developing operational methods sheets and assembly procedures
  • Implementing optical alignment and metrology processes
  • Integrating prototype systems onto semiconductor tools for testing
  • Determining test methods and procedures for technical de-risk
  • Reporting and presenting results to guide design decisions
  • Evaluating design alternatives for manufacturability and performance
