Job Description

Tesla is seeking a Sr. Staff level developer to lead the architecture and development of its in-house Manufacturing Execution application for battery production. The role involves working with high data throughput applications and collaborating with various engineering teams to enhance automation systems and processes.

Requirements

10+ years of experience building backend systems
Demonstrated experience scaling systems to large data volumes and throughput
Expertise in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, and eventual consistency
Proficiency in Go, Java, C, C++, C# or other backend language
Demonstrated experience building solid, testable, and maintainable clean code
Proficiency working in a high-impact, responsive, and collaborative team environment
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

Responsibilities

Own and deliver significant projects/code that impact the business and are recognizable outside of Cell Software each quarter
Architect correctly at the organization level
Solve world-first computing problems at scale
Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams within Cell Software
Write code that is reliable, well tested and which directly impacts Tesla’s bottom line
Interface with controls engineers, operators and other engineers to build effective automation systems
Build tools, test-automation and documentation
Respond to and handle manufacturing process change requests promptly
