Job Description

This position in Apple's Product Safety Engineering department focuses on ensuring that products meet international safety standards. The role requires a detail-oriented engineer with a background in electrical or electronics engineering to support safety engineering design, testing, and continuous improvement strategies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechatronics
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with EN 352, ISO4869, ANSI S12.6
  • System Safety & design background with hands-on experience in safety certifications of complex products
  • Solid understanding of test equipment, test procedures, and agency requirements from safety standards
  • Proficient in evaluating product safety and compliance to at least two standards from IEC/EN/UL/CSA
  • Ability to travel without restrictions

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of products and work with multi-functional teams to address safety requirements
  • Conduct Safety compliance testing, report writing, and acquire certifications
  • Using scientific methods, conduct design of experiments and failure analysis
  • Own and drive the safety aspects of Apple products
  • Develop an understanding of manufacturing processes to identify potential defects
  • Work with suppliers to ensure product safety is maintained during production
  • Conduct detailed failure analysis and document lessons learned
