Job Description

This position in Apple's Product Safety Engineering department focuses on ensuring that products meet international safety standards. The role requires a detail-oriented engineer with a background in electrical or electronics engineering to support safety engineering design, testing, and continuous improvement strategies.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechatronics
5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
2+ years of hands-on experience with EN 352, ISO4869, ANSI S12.6
System Safety & design background with hands-on experience in safety certifications of complex products
Solid understanding of test equipment, test procedures, and agency requirements from safety standards
Proficient in evaluating product safety and compliance to at least two standards from IEC/EN/UL/CSA
Ability to travel without restrictions

Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of products and work with multi-functional teams to address safety requirements
Conduct Safety compliance testing, report writing, and acquire certifications
Using scientific methods, conduct design of experiments and failure analysis
Own and drive the safety aspects of Apple products
Develop an understanding of manufacturing processes to identify potential defects
Work with suppliers to ensure product safety is maintained during production
Conduct detailed failure analysis and document lessons learned
