Job Description

The Apple Machine Translation team is seeking researchers and scientists to advance core machine translation technology, enabling users to communicate across language barriers. Candidates will engage in applied research, exploring novel modeling and learning approaches in natural language processing and machine translation.

Requirements

Expertise in machine translation, large language models, and natural language processing.
Ability to formulate research problems and implement solutions in C/C++/Java, Python, and bash scripting.
Experience with standard MT/NLP toolkits like FairSeq and OpenNMT.
Design and deployment of large-scale, user-facing MT or LLM systems.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Investigate novel modeling and learning approaches in machine translation.
Work with a variety of language technologies to tackle real-world problems.
Contribute to the R&D of state-of-the-art machine translation applications.
