Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Structural Resident Engineer to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project, a significant infrastructure initiative in the U.S. This role involves overseeing bridge construction and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards while contributing to a transformative project that enhances regional mobility and economic growth.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in bridge construction, with at least 5 years in a Resident Engineer or senior site supervision role

Responsibilities

Act as the on-site technical authority for bridge and structural works during all phases of construction
Monitor and inspect the construction of bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and related civil works
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, structural quality standards, and environmental compliance
Identify and document deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner
Review construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for structural elements
Coordinate with design engineers, geotechnical specialists, and other technical disciplines to address and resolve field issues
Track construction progress of structural works and prepare daily/weekly field reports for senior management and the client
Participate in regular progress meetings, construction coordination meetings, and safety briefings
Work closely with the contractor’s field personnel, site supervisors, and QA/QC teams to ensure coordinated execution
