Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Design Engineering team, focusing on complex site development, reclamation, and restoration projects across North America. The role involves both design and construction support, with opportunities for mentoring junior staff and engaging in various engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 6 years of experience
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification
  • Proficiency with 3D civil site design using computer-based modeling applications (i.e., AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar)
  • Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil engineering designs in collaboration with project managers and team members
  • Analyze documentation including technical reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs
  • Review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards
  • Develop civil engineering designs based on data interpretation and regulatory constraints
  • Use 3D design software to develop grading plans, perform drainage layouts, and optimize earthwork designs
  • Oversee drawing production and assist with drafting if required
  • Provide office-based construction support, including contractor assistance and technical submittal review
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to junior team members
